Door of Hope

In 1999, a Baptist church in South Africa created a "hole in the wall" in order to save babies. People were killing or abandoning their babies and leaving them to die. In an effort to help save these babies, the church provided a literal hole where people can drop the babies through - they would be placed in an incubator. Their anonimity was guaranteed - the importance was the welfare of the child.

People come from all over to help care for the babies. Many are infected with ...

Our enemies, those who hurt others

So many of us cry out to God, wondering "Why!" when we hear of another child dying at the hands of his parents, a molestor offending another little girl, and other violent and ugly acts of hate.

Even us Christians wonder how God can "allow" this to happen. These horrible, inconceivable acts tear our hearts apart and we often fall to our knees in sorrow for the innocent victims.

God watches, He knows everything! Read Proverbs 24:15-20:

Hi everyone, my name is Antoinette although my friends call me Toni for short. I was born and raised on the island of Guam (located in the pacific ocean, 3 quarters of the way between Hawaii and the Philippines) and relocated to New Jersey about 2 years ago. I was guided onto this forum by the administrator who practically knows me so well like the back of her hand. I can honestly say that I'm not one who practices the teachings I was brought up with.. The "you must go to church every ...

Romans Road

The Romans Road, this is an excellent lesson for today. This is a good set of verses to share with people when you talk about God and salvation. If you ever find yourself talking about salvation and they are not willing to believe that Jesus is the way to God, the only way to Heaven. Have you ever spoken to someone who says “As long as you’re a good person and you do good things, you’ll go to heaven”? That is dangerous thinking because God does not take us into Heaven because of what we do ...

Then Abram went up from Egyp, he and his wife and all that he had, and Lot with him, to the South. Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold. And he went on his journey from the South as far as Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai, to the place of the altar which he had made there at first. And there Abram called on the name of the Lord.

Lot also, who went with Abram, had flocks and herds and tents. Now the land was not ...

Joseph - A Respectable Man

The following passage is taken from the Life Application Study Bible, New King James Version. Published by Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.

Quote: The strength of what we believe is measured by how much we are willing to suffer for those beliefs. Joseph was a man with strong beliefs. He was prepared to do what was right, despite the pain he knew it would cause. But Joseph had another trait--he not only tried to do what was right, he also tried to do it in the right way.

     When ...

9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.
